At this point, you probably know my main service areas: Corporate, Editorial, Advertising, and Events. But there are other areas and support services too. For example, I’ve helped customers with product photography, architectural photography, and documentary photography (e.g., a cool behind-the-scenes documentary photoshoot with supermodels at a Formula One race track, or video documentary projects for non-profits).
Having a stylist on an all-day corporate shoot is a wonderful thing. Yes, I carry powder and that helps a lot, but a great stylist can make mere mortals look pretty good (and natural). I work with many stylists, arranging everything, handling all the billing, and I don’t mark up their fees.
Onsite photo printing at a business event is also possible and sends your important guests home with a special keepsake. Typically, this service is used for photos of guests with a celebrity or CEO on the step-and-repeat logo background. Or perhaps it’s a recognition dinner or celebratory event and your guests are coming in their evening finest and would be thrilled to take home a portrait done with studio lighting in front of the event logo background. This optional service can add something special to your next event.
No set answer for this. At least I’m not saying something like, “if you have to ask, then you probably can’t afford it.” Seriously, pricing varies from simple headshots that cost in the low hundreds of dollars to day-rate shoots that typically cost around $1600/day. Of course, if it’s for advertising, then there there may be usage fees. Speaking of usage: I never charge you for usage of your own photograph but I do appreciate attribution greatly and expect it in places where that’s the norm. Event pricing is most closely tied to the duration of the event and special requirements you might have for delivering the images. Does this help? A little? My prices are aggressive and reasonable for full-time experienced professionals. But I don’t try and compete against the guy in the next office who just bought a really expensive camera and will do the job on the weekend for $50. I market myself to business people (instead of consumers) because they know the value of professional services and expect to pay professional rates. It’s business and they don’t have time to do the job twice and have standards of quality that must be met. Call me. Prices are not set in stone and I want to work with you.
